Not exactly.
We don’t stack names and work our way down like a grocery list. We match homes to hounds when the timing and fit make sense.
That said, we do keep in touch with families who are interested in one of our pups when the right litter comes along.
If you think a Run Amok hound might belong in your home, head over to the Join the Lounge page and fill out a puppy interest form. It’s the best way to start the conversation.
Enough that you’ll take the decision seriously.
If price is your first question, we’re probably not your people.
Q: When can puppies go to their new homes?
Run Amok puppies typically leave the Lounge at around 8 weeks old.
By that point they’ve received their first vaccinations, learned a few early life lessons from their mother and littermates, and are ready to begin their next chapter.
Good things take time—and we’re not in the business of rushing good hounds.
Once that time comes, we’ll work with each family to coordinate pickup or travel arrangements.
Q: Can we visit the Lounge and meet the dogs in person?
Yes—when the timing is right.
We believe it’s important for prospective owners to see where our hounds live and to meet them in person. Transparency matters, and we’re proud of how our dogs are raised.
That said, Run Amok Hound Lounge is also our home and the daily environment of our dogs. For that reason, we don’t offer casual drop-ins or open kennel visits.
Visits are arranged by appointment only and typically happen after we’ve had a chance to get to know you through the application process and conversation. When the time comes, we’re happy to introduce you to the crew.
Yes.
While we always enjoy meeting families in person when possible, we understand that not everyone lives close enough to make that practical. Puppies can travel safely via ground transport or air travel, depending on location and circumstances.
We’re happy to discuss the best option for getting your hound home safely and comfortably.
Run Amok puppies are raised both in our barn and in our home. If they aren't outside running amok, they are inside under foot.
They travel with us to ball games and community outings, meet plenty of friendly faces, and quickly learn that the mail carrier and delivery drivers are regulars at the Lounge. Living in a rural area means visitors are a little less frequent—but our dogs know the mailman’s schedule very well and are usually waiting patiently in the front yard for him, long before he arrives. Maybe it’s the friendly head rubs. Maybe it’s the daily treats. Either way, the mail truck never arrives unnoticed.
For dogs we keep beyond the early stages of puppyhood, we follow the 7-7-7 rule of socialization—introducing them to a wide range of environments, surfaces, people, and experiences so they grow into confident, well-rounded hounds.
Around here, good manners and good instincts are both part of the house recipe.
Every Run Amok puppy leaves the Lounge with the basics already handled.
Puppies will be microchipped and will receive all age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming before heading to their new homes. Our dogs receive regular veterinary care, and veterinary references are available upon request.
We believe starting strong matters.
Our dogs receive regular veterinary care and are monitored closely as they mature.
We will complete hip and elbow evaluations at the appropriate age for our breeding dogs. Bloodhounds are a breed that deserves careful attention to health and structure, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Life happens.
If you ever find yourself unable to keep your Run Amok hound, we ask that you contact us first. We will do everything in our power to help find the dog a safe, responsible home.
Our dogs are part of our extended family, and we stay invested in their well-being long after they leave the Lounge.
